we love getting our UPS shipments especially when they have our freshly printed albums. we spend a large part of winter designing albums from the previous year and this is about the time when they come strolling in ... we have more to share soon too! i decided i would snap some images and put a little slideshow together before we ship them off to our 2009 couples. they are so much more amazing in person ... so come by the studio and check out our albums!

i didn't realize how behind i was on blogging until i started going through folders and folders of sessions. this down time has been pretty good to play catch up. maybe i'll update my website ... haha. i've been saying that forever. well, these girls and i go way back. they use to live next door to me like 9 years ago. they were the age my oldest son is today. wow .... how time flies. the oldest rachel, is in collage and the "twins" emily and sarah are graduating this spring. next posts will be their senior sessions. we took a few shots with all three for mom and dad ... i even squeezed in one bc i happened to have a black tank under my shirt HA ... to be 17 again!!

this winter has been headshot season for me. it's funny how word of mouth works but i've really enjoyed photographing professionals who need updated relaxed headshots for their biz/brands/websites/marketing. this winter has definitely been a long, cold and grey one but that hasn't stopped us from taking great images. the studio has definitely come in handy during these winter months since i'm mostly a natural light photographer. here's a little collage i put together for joane who is launching a new venture REAL WELL! joane is a nutritionist ... her website will up soon.

i've really enjoyed photographing these darling girls the last several years. i especially loved their last family session but i never had the chance to blog it during the holiday season. well, they were back with a new member of the family, ginger! this little lab was so sweet and mom brought the girls into the studio for a quick session to capture the moment!

i grabbed some valentine's day inspiration from some of my favorite blogs (images above are not mine) during the last few weeks ... most of which consisted of baking! i was planning on baking away and making cute cards for the boys this past weekend. unfortunately, i ended up in the hospital last week and had quite the health scare. thank goodness i'm ok now. i'll be home recovering the next several weeks. libby and the girls are still shooting and working at the studio while i'm away and back to my normal self. please feel free to email me ... i'll be checking it periodically. thanks to everyone who has called, facebooked, e-mailed and sent well wishes :)

hope everyone had a great weekend! this year i'm really trying to photograph my kiddos every month and capture their day-to-day lives. so of course what a better photo-op during the big snow we got this weekend while they had a blast sledding! i'm also loving my collages these days ... they're perfect for showcasing a number of images while telling the little story!

i have wanted to print some images of the boys for some time now and i finally did! it was fun to go through my fall pictures because the color was so vibrant. i made some gallery wraps for my husbands office. he's been asking me for years to decorate it with some images of the boys. of course, i've been so busy i never managed to do it until now. i think they'll be the perfect valentine's gift! here's a little collage of the shoot! gosh do i miss the sun and warmer weather.

jessica's a former bride and i was thrilled when she called to schedule a maternity session. she is such a natural beauty and dan is a great guy and so fun to be around. they drove up from cincinnati on a cold winter day so we did most of the shooting in the studio. we had fun listening to the band cake on the i-pod and then ran out for some starbucks while grabbing a few outdoor shots. i'm dying to meet their little one in a couple months. stay warm and i'll see you soon!

sorry for the time away but i had such a crazy december that i took a break from blogging. many of you have hinted about when my next post was going to be ... and here it is! it's winter in ohio and lately a lot of grey skies, some snow but mostly wet and cold weather around here. i've been cooking up a storm at home with the kids, organzing my house and designing gallery wraps for my 2009 clients. i know i've said this before but i need to take pictures of the beautiful wall collages we've done because they are gorgeous! we just did a fun shoot for "flour and child". whitney the owner is a former bride, maternity and family client but most of all a fabulous baker and friend. she has a blog which you should check out if you want to get a hold of some of her goodies! her baked goods are scrumptious!!! i ordered some special for our family and friends over the holidays because they are sooo delicious. thanks to amanda for helping me shoot. whitney brought her kiddos to help style the session ... they were so cute!

i went up to chicago a few weeks ago to photograph jenny and jarrod's engagement session. it was a chilly but beautiful december morning. i had such a nice time meeting them and spending a couple hours running around downtown chicago. jarrod use to play hockey and we randomly ran into an ice skating rink ... i asked them if they wanted to take a few laps around the rink .... they said yes! of course i was excited ... i love when couples do things that are unique, different but meaningful in some way. thanks again for a great session and i can't wait to see you both again!

the night before christmas ... and all through the house .... i was cooking up our christmas dinner. while waiting for our roast to reach the perfect temperature i grabbed the computer to blog a quick post. i found this picture of our boys from a short 3 years ago. how time zooms by! we're enjoying every minute of it!!!! have a merry christmas everyone :)

this wedding was one of my favorites of the year. the wedding was in lynchburg, ohio which is a "one stop light" kind of town. it was my first time there and i was so excited as it was not my typical ohio wedding. it was refreshing to be in such a different environment...and sam had my creative juices flowing with all her great ideas. here's part 1 of the day. enjoy!
